I seem to have more than my share of wanderlust and a drive to explore. For me, the biggest reason to go on a canoe trip is to see something new and rekindle that sense of adventure. The intent of the canoe trip reports is to share the joy of adventure, the beauty of the natural world, and hopefully provide enough information to help you choose and plan your own trips. Check out the newest report from our trip on the Petawawa river.
As many people have found out, building a canoe or kayak using modern strip building techniques and materials is really quite easy. However that doesn't seem to take anything away from the admiration that folks show for a wooden boat. The Boatworks pages are there to brag about the boats we've built as much as anything else. To date we've built a woodstrip canoe, a woodstrip kayak, a plywood rowboat and partially refinished a mahogany runabout.
