AlgonquinBy: Madeline
The sooty smoke, the fresh fish, the aromatic air, the scrumptious supper slowly roasting over the fire in the precious pot.
The aching arms, the wind in my face, the paddle in my palms, the slime of the fish that I had caught; two lake trout, and a sharp stick.
The whooshing wind, the rustling trees, the crashing waves, the fire crackling cooking supper, warming hands, providing luminous light.
Forever the joy of Algonquin, my life.
CanoeingBy: Scott
Canoeing is Oh so fun. It is always sad when it is done. I can paddle all day, Through might and may. I always wish it had just begun.
