Day FourToday Art and Jack were heading home so we paddled up Pen Lake with them. Well, actually Eric and I went off to fish at the bottom of the falls from Clydegale for awhile first. Eric had a Brookie on the line before I could even get a worm on a hook. It was an 18" beauty of a fish. We weighed it at 2 1/2 lbs on the spring scale I have that was handed down to me from my Great Grandfather. Later, we weighted it again on the new fangled digital scale one of the other guys had added to their toy collection for the year and believe it or not the fancy digital scale was wrong by 3/4 of a lb. It actually had the nerve to claim that this fish
This was a good day for Lake Trout fishing. Between the 4 of us on the way back down the lake we caught at least 5 Lakers, including Rick and Murray having a double header - paddling together in the same canoe they each caught a fish at the same time. We also found a good solid chunk of ice on the shore and hacked off enough to fill the cooler bag. |
