2013 Waterwalker Film FestivalThe Fishing Trip Shortlisted In this sequel to "An Algonquin Adventure" the fishing competition heats up. While I try to count anything and everything that I pull out of the water to pad my score, Peter sets the rules and shows me how a real fisherman does the job. 2012 Waterwalker Film FestivalAn Algonquin Adventure Honourable Mention - Amateur Film. "An Algonquin Adventure" is a classic father-son canoe trip in Algonquin Provincial Park. Our journey starts with us sneaking away in the early morning. On the trip we explore several lakes, catch a bunch of trout and even agree to share our site with a bear. On the last day we pack up and head for home, only to remember that we're going to have some explaining to do once we get there.
Algonquin Outfitters Video ContestHonourable Mention This was a slightly longer version of "An Algonquin Adventure" than the one that we later submitted for the Waterwalker Film Festival.
Let It Rain - The Whitewater Rivers of New England, New York, Quebec and OntarioBy Alden Bird
Alden has put together a real encyclopedia of whitewater canoe routes and detinations. While the book is strongly focused on more of the park and play destinations, it also includes a few multi-day routes. I contributed the route description for the "Petawawa River Upper Section".
